Google I/O 2018 + I/O 2019

Google  I/O 2019

We designed this 30 influencers around the world in mind; the goal was to have them to travel to i/o2019 with a 4-day itinerary and 50 million fans and followers who will be following these influencers on social media platforms, news outlets and YouTube. The key message is that Google is helping people, big or small, to make life more productive and easy.

We wanted to create a fun experience for the influencers to use Google products without being hard sell. How? By creating and designing fun challenges that will pique the interest of the influencers, reviewers, news and fans.

Google #io2019 Design Collaterals

We designed personalised a Welcome Card, Pixel 3 Phone Wallpaper with an illustrated character based o the influencers. We also created art selfie cards with the Google Arts & Culture app and used them as seat place markers for influencers. In total, we created 25 influencers characters and adapted them onto the big welcome screen at Googleplex and other collaterals, while the main Google #io2019 pattern designs were created by Google material design team, which we also adapted onto all design collaterals.

We created an #io2019 pack filled with goodies and fun activities that will make their stay fun and memorable. Google  I/O 2018

Google hosted 22 video-based influencers from 15 countries to experience #io2018 for 4 days. The programmes planned for them was to experience Google I/O, visit the Google HQ and also check out San Francisco while experiencing Google products.

Google Lens Zoo Safari

We designed a super fun adventure in San Francisco Zoo & Garden where the influencers will be given maps and to use Google Lens on their Google Pixel phone to find animals and plants, complete with a scoring system. Competitive, check. Fun, check. Loads of exercise, you bet. Never a dull moment.

Word Lens Japanese Menu

Google created a Google Translate Feast at a Japanese restaurant. This entire experience is to showcase Google Translate in helping to real time translation of foreign words and what the best place to test it out? A Japanese restaurant that satisfies the taste buds and an app that lets you order a meal like a native Japanese.

Google I/O Reporter's Map

During Google I/O 4 day event, the entire place is filled with activities, announcements, talks and demos. To make everything accessible, an itinerary that is easy to follow through and getting around, we come up with a design that is compact and easy to read for reporters and news agencies. Thus we created this foldable map packed with all the agendas. UX wise, the user just needs to know what is highlighted and what is important, so that they can do a checklist and reach their destination on time.
